wash on Monday...

"Any woman who wants to have time for special activities and hobbies must have a working schedule. Otherwise she will be continually at loose ends and her work never finished. Hit-or-miss housekeeping results in frazzled nerves, ineffective work, wasted time, cross children and unpleasant husbands.

On the other hand, don't make your schedule do detailed and exact that you are hard pressed to follow it. Block in the main things. Should your schedule hopelessly elude you, do not attempt to catch up with it. Sit tight for a few days and let it come round to you.

The old jingle, incidentally, goes: Wash on Monday, iron on Tuesday, mend on Wednesday, upstairs on Thursday, downstairs Friday, bake on Saturday, church on Sunday. Turn it around any way you want, but do have a plan."
